I Have No Complaints (No Tengo Quejas)
Part of Vic Herman’s acclaimed Many Faces of Mexico exhibition (#77 in the series), I Have No Complaints presents a quietly powerful portrait of a noble Mexican woman who embodies wisdom born from perseverance. Her weathered face and simple shawl speak to a lifetime of endurance and grace. There is no trace of bitterness—only the serenity of one who has lived fully, loved deeply, and carries no complaints.
This lithograph was featured in The Many Faces of Mexico exhibition, which traveled throughout Mexico and the United States under the joint sponsorship of the Mexican and American governments. The series was celebrated for its intimate portrayal of everyday dignity, and Herman’s ability to honor cultural authenticity through painterly realism.
Each print in this signed and numbered edition of 300 was hand-inscribed by the artist along the lower margin.
